Most people will vouch for MTV Roadies to officially be the first Reality Show that was telecast on Indian Television. As a matter of fact it is the longest running reality show in Indian Television. But then 10 years back how many people did you have watching MTV roadies, and even if there were any it was a certain section of people termed as "GEN X" who watched it. Even today it caters only to an audience mostly of the age group 20-30, whereas Indian Idol an out and out copy of the hugely successful American Idol catered to masses and classes alike.
